The United Nations Security Council has approved a one-year extension to its support mission in Libya, while also easing an arms embargo and reviewing an asset freeze.

Libya's interim prime minister, Ali Zeidan, has made an official visit to hold talks with US government officials, the UN, IMF and the World Bank.

The body has approved three members of prime minister Ali Zeidan's proposed cabinet who were investigated for their pre-2011 activities, including the agriculture and foreign affairs ministers.
